The dataset was cleaned and validated to ensure high data quality and confirm that it contained no missing values. A new variable representing active COVID-19 cases was created by subtracting recovered cases and deaths from total confirmed cases. The analysis showed a high recovery rate in India compared to deaths. State-level analysis identified Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu as the most affected states. Time-series visualizations revealed two major waves of the pandemic, with the second wave being significantly more severe.
