Chemical recycling of plastics
تفاصيل العمل
This project is a technical research article focused on the chemical recycling of plastic waste, with particular emphasis on polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The work explores the growing environmental problem of plastic accumulation and discusses the importance of sustainable recycling technologies in reducing pollution and recovering valuable materials. The article provides a structured overview of plastic types, their common applications, and the significance of recycling in modern waste management systems. It also compares mechanical recycling with chemical recycling methods, highlighting the advantages, limitations, and environmental impacts of each approach. Several chemical recycling technologies are analyzed in detail, including pyrolysis, gasification, hydrolysis, solvolysis, and enzymatic recycling. The article explains how these processes break down plastic polymers into useful raw materials such as fuels, monomers, or industrial feedstocks that can be reused in manufacturing. This work demonstrates the ability to research, organize, and write structured technical content in the fields of chemical engineering, sustainability, and industrial processes, making complex scientific concepts accessible in a clear and professional format.
