Excel Sales Performance & Profitability Dashboard | Discount & Loss Analysis

Project Overview Developed an executive-level Excel dashboard to analyze retail sales performance and profitability over four years of transactional data. The project focuses on identifying margin erosion, loss-making transactions, and the real impact of discounting on business performance. What I did: Consolidated multi-table retail data into a single analysis-ready dataset using Power Query Built dynamic Pivot Tables and interactive dashboards inside Excel Analyzed discount impact, loss-making orders, and category-level profitability Designed an executive-friendly dashboard with KPIs, charts, and slicers Key Insights: ~18.6% of transactions are loss-making Discounted sales destroy overall profitability despite driving revenue volume Certain categories generate high sales but extremely low margins Tools: Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables, Dashboards) Outcome: Delivered a clean, decision-focused Excel dashboard that highlights pricing and discount risks and supports data-driven profitability decisions.
