تفاصيل العمل

Based on credible data derived from WHO Public Health Panorama, as well as approved sociological research, the problematic case of old medical equipment in healthcare institutions is still remaining. The final results of a study conducted by American Public Health Association in 2020 showed that most hospitals in Asia, Africa, and many regions in Europe only perform a regular maintenance for the medical equipment instead of replacing it by modern one. The urgent need for technically updating the medical equipment in health care facilities and modernizing the current health conditions had put new non-standard organizational tasks for senior managers, heads of departments, and ordinary doctors who use such medical equipment. It is the first-ever event where doctors participate in the technical and market analysis of the existing medical technology market, prepare technical specifications and applications for competitive procedures, and formulate requirements for suppliers under the terms of delivery and warranty service. Doctors also determine the adequate number of medical equipment, stating that there is a remarkable shortage in medical equipment supply in the industry, while the effectiveness of the old equipment and devices is still subject to scrupulous analysis. The old devices in hospitals are dangerous. Every outdated device threatens the lives of patients and misjudges the symptoms accompanying the actual disease. That does not only imped the examination process in hospitals, but also prevents the medical treatment from completing its right path. Since 2008, outdated medical equipment was a main cause of killing 80.000 patients across the globe. It is expected that previous number will double on the end of the current decade even if the hospitals keep maintaining their old devices and all related units; particularly after Coronavirus has attacked 110.000.000 infected people who became in eager need for new technologies helping them resist that deadly pandemic. Keywords: Healthcare modernization, satisfaction of medical personnel, maintenance of medical equipment, technology management, old medical equipment dangers
